Commercial solar and battery storage for South African businesses
Cut your electricity and diesel bills. Keep a backup for when the grid fails.
Electricity tariffs keep rising, and NERSA has approved further increases for 2026. For a factory, farm or cold store, power is now one of the largest running costs. A solar + battery system sized to your loads supplies your daytime and peak-time energy, so you buy far less from Eskom or your municipality.
What a system does for your site
Lower monthly bills
Solar covers your daytime production load. The battery shifts energy into peak-tariff hours.
Less diesel
On farms, mines and sites with weak supply, the generator becomes a backup, not the main source.
Backup when you need it
Municipal faults, cable theft and substation failures still cut supply. Critical loads switch to the battery without a break.
Grid-ready or off-grid
Grid-tied, hybrid or fully off-grid, designed for your connection and your municipality's rules.
Typical systems for South African sites
| Site | Typical system | Main benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Workshop or small factory | PP-50: 50 kWp + 100 kWh | Lower daytime and peak bills |
| Medium factory or cold store | PP-100: 100 kWp + 215 kWh | Bill savings + critical-load backup |
| Farm, packhouse or irrigation | PP-100 to PP-250 + existing genset | Less diesel, power where the grid is weak |
| Mine or remote site | PP-250 to PP-500 + genset, or Solar Container | Off-grid power, generator as backup |
Prices depend on your loads and site. Your free assessment includes a suggested retail price range.
See it in numbers before you decide
Our sample assessment report is for a fictional plastics factory in Gauteng: 1,020 kWh per day, a 150 kVA generator and rising bills. It shows the recommended system, a simulated week and the 10- and 20-year cost.
Proof from the field
Off-grid greenhouse farm, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 495 kWp solar + 350 kWh battery + diesel backup. No grid; up to 300 kW of farm load. In operation since October 2024. → Read more
Built and serviced locally
Your system is installed by a TF PowerProof Certified Partner in South Africa and signed off by our engineers at every stage. You buy the system from, and sign with, a certified local partner, who installs and services it. For large projects, a turnkey contract with TF PowerProof is also possible.
Frequently asked
Is solar still worth it now that load shedding has stopped?
Yes, the case is now about cost. Tariffs keep rising every year, and a system that cuts your bill pays for itself whether or not the grid fails. The battery is still there for municipal outages.
Do I need to register the system with my municipality?
Grid-connected systems usually do. We prepare the documents your installer needs.
Can you work with my existing generator?
Yes. Most of our systems keep the existing generator as backup, controlled automatically by the energy management system.
